Books – Our Friends Till the World Ends

Reading books give sudden harmonious flair and charm us by their content. It doesn’t matter at all how the saga reconcile, what matters is the possession of something lusciously private – a bond between the reader and the writer, between the factual world and the world engraved upon the tome!
Today’s technological progressions have slightly deceased the presence of the books. First came the radio, then the television and now the internet, machines keep on changing. The latest hi-tech tablets, e-books, mobiles have brought portability and topicality, but cannot defy the simplest form of technology in the shape of books.
Books are precious source of knowledge with fathomless benefits. In their printed pages, they keep the stories of civilizations and lore. Ancient languages that have been forgotten are still safe and secure in books. Holy books like The Quran, Bible, Gita and Guru Garanth Sahib impart their teachings. They transport us into different worlds of religions, cultures and periods, enabling us to relate better with others.
Since our kindergarten days, books have proved to be a safe haven. They act as a profound means of conveying knowledge from one generation to the another. They accompany the reader in times of loneliness. Through the pages of the books, the reader bridges the path to execute his journey into another world of dreams, aspirations and imaginations.
They acquaint us with different characters as we come to know them – whether we fancy, fear, fawn or abhor them. They not only bring the characters alive but even illuminate our world with delight and cheer us up when we are sad. Their pure friendship demands nothing in return from the reader. They are the true companions and remain close to the reader when others fall out in adversity. They stand like a pillar in thick and thin, enrich our mind by widening our knowledge, hone our intellect and uplift the morals.
There is unquantifiable bliss that the books alone proffer; the aroma, the feel, the sound, the sensation, the happiness, completely rejuvenating the readers.
Reading books awake and stimulate the mind. As compared to other electronic means, the books with slow pace bring peace and comfort to the readers’ surroundings.
We should realize the importance of books in our lives. Although they are quiet, insensitive and inert but their company provides us the comradeship that is beyond praise and commendation. Undeniably, they are the treasure of acumen. Their grandeur stands in the form of libraries.
Books are precious source of knowledge with fathomless benefits.
