Internet Copywriting Secrets To Capture Visitors And Convert Them Into Paying Customers

The internet has created an enormous need for internet copywriting.
Every person who has a website, regardless of the size of their business is normally trying to convince their readers to take some sort of action.
Getting traffic to your site is not enough; once you have a visitor to your site you have literally seconds to attract his attention. He will look at your headline, images and glance down at your first paragraph and if you are not holding his attention at this point he is gone. That is why many online businesses are not making any money; their visitors are not being converted to clients.
Is internet copywriting really any different to writing copy for direct mail or any other sales pages?
There is a format that most good copywriters use, normally just tweaking it a little bit to suit their own ideas, this format has been around for decades and is loosely described as AIDA:
A= Attention
I= Interest
D=Desire
A= Action
This has not changed with writing copy for the internet. The internet is just another way to give your message, but the message stays the same.
Because of the development in technology, you can now produce video sales messages very quickly that can be downloaded by most computers. This has tempted people to say that is the way of the future and long sales copy on the web is dead. Not true. There is always going to be a need for written sales copy on the internet.
The smart copywriter is going to include both.
Although putting a video on YouTube can get you 1000’s of views if you have not followed the same sales copy format as a sales page the chances of converting that traffic into paying customers is pretty low.
Working with the AIDA format here are some internet copywriting tips.
• Your headline is going to be the most important part of your copy. Why? Because if you don’t attract your reader’s ATTENTION the rest of your work is not going to be read. Be prepared to spend the necessary time on your headline, it can be tempting to want to rush into writing the body of the letter.
• The best way to keep your reader’s INTEREST is to let him know how you are going to help him; the benefits to him are what he is interested in.
• To totally convince him and to create the DESIRE to buy tell him the biggest benefit your product is going to give him. It’s all about making him desperate to get your product or service
• Now is the time to convince him to take ACTION and buy. This is where you want to close the sale, sometimes adding a bonus is going to make all the difference to his decision. If he thinks he will get something for nothing plus your product that often convinces him to put his hand in his pocket for his credit card.
Good copy writing skills will totally change your conversion rates and dramatically boost your profits and you can become a skilled copy writer faster than you thought possible.
