The chances are if you are reading this you are looking for more ways to find hot interesting topics to write about in your articles! Let me assure you, you are not alone in this problem. It doesn’t matter how long you have been writing articles you will always need new ideas in order to help you get the most out of your article writing efforts! This article looks at ways you can find out what topics are hot and whether or not you should look in to writing articles in that specific area!
The first thing to look at is where you are going to put your article once complete, now this may not seem that important however when we look at articles in terms of generating traffic to our own sites it becomes extremely important simply because a topic may be hot in 1 place, however the readers of another site or directory may be more interested in another topic!
Step 1 – Picking Where to Write Your Article
The easiest way to find the right directory to post you hot topic on is to search that directory and find articles in the same category as the one you wish to write! If you see that your chosen topic is getting a lot of hits and articles on a particular directory then it makes sense to write your article up on that directory.
Note: It is worth noting that as an article marketer you will build up a huge list of directories and submit your content to the “right” one each time, this gives you and the article directory many more benefits!
Step 2 – Research Your Hot Topics in Search Engines
This second step is simple making sure 2 things are true before you submit to a directory..
Do results show in search engines for that particular directory
Does that directory have a good “trust bond” with search engines.
One of the easiest ways to find out the status of an article directory and search engines is to search for 2 main points.
The name of the directory
Search for some “high traffic posts” on that directory
For example if we were going in investigate EzineArticles we would simply search for it using its name, doing so in Google brings this directory up on top with some pre-populated link lists below, this tells us that Google has respect and trust and you can be sure that your article once approved will show up in search results.
Many article directories have a “Most Viewed” second on their site now so simply go to the one that relates to your topic and use the top viewed article in that area and search for it’s title.
The article title should come up in the first page or 2 of Google, this will show you that the stats produced are genuine and your topic is actually hot and not a bunch of made up figures!
All in all those 2 methods will ensure that you will get traffic to your article from a reputable directory, if you are looking to find keywords to use then you can use a whole host of Google tools however I avoid this method as you can easily find yourself writing about previously “hot topics”. I think it is best to look at content that is getting traffic to determine if your article stands a chance of being successful over a period of time!
