Ten Very important Things To Understand Before You Buy Your Wedding Shoes

Choosing the ideal wedding shoe can be a tricky affair. Whether it be the most sexy heel or cutest flat we can easily fall for the most beautiful shoe that will look wonderful with our dress only to discover that they don’t fit.
No matter how tempting it is, if the fit of your dream wedding shoes is not one hundred percent perfect – don’t buy them. The last thing you need is your most important day to be messed up by asore foot. Here are some suggestions to help you find the ideal shoe for your most important day.
1. Buy your shoes before your first dress fitting, the style, shape and heel height can make a big difference to the fit and styling of your dress.
2. Your feet swell as the day advances so always go wedding shoe shoppingin the afternoon.
3. Try your shoes with pantyhose, no show socks or whatever you intend to wear on the big day.
4. If they pinch or rub – don’t buy them. Stretching shoes may or may not help, you can’t be sure how they will change shape why jeopardize your the biggest day of your life. Even if they only rub or pinch a little bit be assured that the discomfort will increase considerably when you are wearing them constantly for numerous hours.
5. Be pragmatic, if you are used to slopping around in trainers it is going to be hard to last all day in 6 inch stilettos. It doesn’t mean it can’t be done but practice the walk with and without the dress. Maybe buy a similar type of shoe and try walking both inside and outside as well as on different surfaces such as grass and gravel. Take a look at your progress by walking in front of a mirror. When outside maybe even try to take a video or yourself.
This way, if there is a scuff or a snag from the odd lurch your wedding shoes will not be messed up.
6. Check the fit – when you stand up and walk around there should still be at least 3/8 – 1/2 inch between your toe and the tip of the shoe.
7. Be sure the ball of your foot fits comfortably in the widest part of the shoe. If it doesn’t it could start to pinch later . If you decide to wear high heels ensure the raised part in the shoe rises high enough to touch the arch of your foot.
8. Check that your heel does slip in and out of the heel whilst you walk.
9. Wear socks. I am not talking about fluffy wool socks but no show socks for flats and heels. They are designed to be low cut so they stay on your foot but nobody will see that you are wearing them. These will give your foot a some extra padding and help you keep on your foot. You should wear these even if you are wearing pantyhose.
10. Always have a reserve plan, well reserve pair of shoes anyway. Always have a second pair of shoes available so if anything happens to your first pair or they are just too uncomfortable you will still be able to enjoy your big day.
