Inkjet cartridges are quite affordable if you know how to reuse them instead of replacing them everything you run out of ink. Refilling with ink refill kit is what you should know to reutilize your empty cartridges rather than throwing them away. This way you will save yourself hundreds of dollars and so it is really worth investing the time to learn how to do it.
Before you get started with the process to refill ink cartridges, you need to make sure that you have got everything that are required including an inkjet cartridge refill kit. So, you will need an empty cartridge, refill kit, paper towel, latex gloves, cotton swabs etc. The process to do this is not hard and an ink refill kit is easily available for purchase from an office supply store or from online stores. These options are generally affordable and you it would cost about 50% of what you would ordinary pay for an inkjet cartridge.
Work on a flat surface and make sure that you have protected it from any kind of ink spillage that may take place while refilling by yourself. Make sure to wear the gloves to protect your hand from stains of messy ink. Get a roll of paper towel, tape and old newspaper. Now remove the empty unit from your machine and place it on the newspaper that is placed on the work area.
Examine your cartridge looking into the holes for filling ink. Remember that some types of cartridges do not have holes and you need to make it by yourself. The most popular color is Black and the other colors are Magenta, Cyan and Yellow. Once you identify the colors in the cartridge, insert the long needle into the hole of the cartridge and inject the ink carefully. Make sure not to overfill the unit and you should stop inserting ink as soon as the ink starts to ooze out of the hole.
After you have refilled with all the colors, carefully wipe out the cartridge print head on your paper towel until the ink stops bleeding. Check out that the cartridge is not leaking. Then install the cartridge in its proper place and take a test print out to confirm that the cartridge is working well. You must know that you can refill your empty units up to four to five times till the unit is fully worn out.
