How To Write An Informative 400 Word Article

Writing informative 400 word articles can be a useful tool in building the credibility of your business, as well as providing a useful source of information to your customers and prospects. Short articles are particularly good for capturing someone’s interest in a subject and if you include a call to action can be an effective marketing tool.
The basis of writing these articles is for me a simple 6 step process consisting of the following:
Subject
Make the subject of your article relevant to the information that you want to convey. Ensure that you have at least two keywords within the article header. Try and keep the heading short and snappy as it’s more likely to gain the attention of your potential reader.
Introduction
The introduction is crucial to your article. You want to tell your reader within 2 – 3 sentences what your article is about. Your introduction will also be used in the article abstract so make sure it conveys enough information about the subject you’ve chosen.
Body Text
This should be the meatier part of your article, where you deliver the promise that you made in the introduction. Ensure that you provide enough information so that the reader doesn’t feel like they’ve only been told half a story. If your subject requires substantially more than 400 words then make a series of articles and ensure that you mention that the article is part of a series.
The body text of your article is your chance to convey how well you know your subject, so use the words sparingly but efficiently. Build credibility as a writer. Double check facts if you include them because people love nothing more than to point out when you’re wrong! In fact, given the shelf life of articles, if you use facts and figures ensure you include the sentence ‘correct at time of writing’ and the date when it was written.
Call to Action
If you’re trying to get people to sign up for a newsletter or something else you’re promoting include it now.
Conclusion
Keep this brief, you only need two or three sentences to tie together what you’ve already told them but try not to repeat word for word what you’ve previously said.
Author Bio Box
This is essential, and it’s surprising how many people don’t use it effectively! You have the opportunity to tell people a little more about you and what you do, as well as links to your sites. Use it properly so that people can find you.
