So you want to create an article marketing campaign and you don’t know how to get started… Or maybe you just want to learn some new techniques… Either way, you’ve found the right article. In the next few paragraphs I will discuss the fine details and steps to writing articles, submitting them to article directories and building a list with your articles.
Here’s what you need to do the get this going:
1. Choose a profitable niche that you can be passionate about. You see, I’ve been working online for a couple of years now and it never seizes to amaze me at how many people don’t get this step right. There are so many niche areas for you to write articles about and promote products, but most of them have too much competition for the average Joe’s work style.
If you were to write about internet marketing, you would have many people to compete with. So how would you ever compete with a guy like Yaro Starak? Well, there are many ways for you to do this, but I wouldn’t suggest that you try and compete with him by blog writing. However, you could target very specific topics that are related to something he would write about. For example, some topics would include, article writing, list building, PPC marketing, Google AdSense, Twitter traffic, and many others that are targeted.
So in order for you to get a good idea about what topics you should write about, I suggest that you use the Google Keyword Tool to analyze and find out which topics you can easily earn a profit from. Once you have these topics, it’s time to start writing about them.
2. Outlining your article topics. OK… So now that you have a topic to write about, you will want to think of as many sub-topics for your main topic as possible. Ten sub-topics will be just fine. Here’s a general idea of what I’m talking about:
Main Topic: Dog Training
Sub-Topics: How to stop your dog from chewing up your cloths, how to stop your dog from barking so much, how to stop your dog from attacking other dogs, how to stop your dog from chasing cars, etc…
Do you see how this works? Once you come up with ten sub-topics, you will have a lot to write about and each article you write will bring you closer to a successful business.
3. Submitting your articles to different article directories. Now, there isn’t any secret formula for doing this but you also want to get the most out of your content. So I suggest that you submit to these top four directories: EzineArticles.com, ArticlesBase.com, GoArticles.com and ArticleBank.com. This will give you a good start with your article campaign. I wouldn’t worry about using other directories as I have found that little traffic comes from them, but if you want to anyway, go ahead.
4. Building a list with your articles. In my opinion, if you’re not doing this you’ll fail online. The reason for this is that building a list of subscribers allows you to really build a solid foundation for your business. Just having a list of subscribers allows you to make money whenever you need it, when done correctly of course. So set of a squeeze page that allows you to collect information and send people to it. This is the only page you should ever send first time traffic to. Trust me, this works!
