Use Of ‘I’ And ‘You’ While Doing Effective Blogging

Blogging is making the businesses run on the Internet. It drives high volumes of traffic which have the potential of converting into genuine buyers within short interval of time. However, for fetching high profits and scaling new heights in the online business, it is quite important to understand the language used in writing effective blogs. There is absolutely no doubt on the fact that art of writing creative blogs is in the hands of experienced blogger. It is up to him/her on how and what all he/she wants to include as the part of blogging. Use of first person narrative form, “I”, and second person narrative form, “You”, happen to make some of really good blogs turn into something more extraordinaire.
There are several reasons behind the use of “I” and “You” that make the blogs read again and again by the masses thronging Internet. But the irony is that many bloggers give an overdose of I’s and You’s in their blogs, ultimately the sense of subject being discussed in the blog fades away in matter of time.
While there are many schools of thought that emphasize on different aspects in effective blogging, one common aspect which is always concentrated upon is the use of “I” and “You”. Let’s take a look on why “I” and “You” are important, and generate the interests of readers.
• “I” and “You” create personal tone and the reader feels that the writer is talking directly to him/her. Just guess if the third person narrative form like “They” will create the personal tone! Absolutely not! In case of use of third person form in Blog the reader would get the feeling that the writer is addressing his/her thoughts to another person which is no less than ignorance.
• With the balance use of “I” and “You”, the blog writer will have the advantage to drive home the point while being discursive during the blog. The writer will impersonate using “I” and “You” with the reader about the subject in discussion. For example, “I would like to go for it. What about you?” Now try putting this sentence without the use of “I” and “You” and see the kind of difference is ultimately created at the end.
• By incorporating these two words in the blogs, the experienced blog writer is bringing an element of informal dialogue which is liked by readers. “I” and “You” makes the blog read easily and even the generic understanding of the blog will work better. An experienced blogger will make sure that “I” and “You” are placed at appropriate places for the purpose of developing an interaction with the reader.
• When these two words are in the blog, the reader becomes more interested in reading and that too by putting less pressure on the brain. The statistics are based on Chomsky cognitive structure which shows how human mind perceives the things while reading.
With above reasons discussed, blog writers should make a balanced use of “I” and “You” in their blogs to attract more readers.
