Mistakes That Should Be Avoided in Article Writing

Writing articles can be quite tricky especially if you are a starter as you will keep on making some common mistakes. You should not just write articles to finish them but you should create valuable content that will promote yourself as an expert and this is what will market you in article writing. It’s allowed to make some mistakes at first but this should be considerably reduced as you handle more articles.
Some common mistakes in article writing include:
Poor article format – Some writers will write articles just to fill up the page by putting down anything that comes into their mind without any plan. You should have a clear article format with a headline, an introduction, body and a conclusion. The introduction should be very catchy and should give an overview of what the article entails.
Unclear article content – You need to provide articles with clear and correct content as instructed by the client. If you are not sure of the content that you are supposed to handle, there are many online sites that you can use for research on the given topic as long as you don’t plagiarize other people’s work. By observing this, you will be able to submit high quality articles which will ensure your success in article writing.
Grammatical errors – A lot of readers will immediately dismiss your articles if you continuously make spelling and grammatical errors. Always proofread and spell-check your articles to have any mistakes fixed. Punctuation should also be done correctly and this will help you to improve the quality of your articles.
Not writing unique articles – Some people are just too lazy to come up with their own article content and they end up copying other people’s work. This will automatically disqualify your work from some article writing sites and you may even be accused of plagiarism. Readers search for new content in the articles and will dismiss your work if they find the same duplicated material that they just read somewhere else.
Very long paragraphs – Most readers like scanning through the materials they find in the web and they are usually turned off by very long paragraphs. Keep your paragraphs short by using three to four lines for each. You should also avoid writing very long articles as some readers will get bored by such and a word count of between 400-600 words is desirable unless otherwise instructed by your client.
Not updating articles – There are some articles whose content requires to be updated every now and then. This should be done regularly especially if you run your own site as your viewers will get bored if they find the same content every time they visit your site. Make your articles easy to read by use of headings, subheadings and bullets or numbering.
You may not realize these article writing mistakes when writing therefore it’s important that you carefully go through your work before submitting the articles. By observing all these mistakes, you will be able to stand out by producing very unique high quality articles and traffic will keep flowing to your site.
