Copywriting techniques that help sell products are now being sought by all website owners. Today the internet is a huge market place where there are millions of businesses trying to promote their products or services to the millions of people searching for solutions to their problems.
Hi, my name is Cynthia and I have spent the last 4 years writing copy for websites. I have found that by sticking with the basic principles of selling, my copy has been very successful.
I would like to share with you some of the techniques that have consistently worked for me.
# 1
The first rule for any good copywriting is to get read. This sounds obvious but unless you can write a headline that is going to attract visitors, your copy is not going to be read. It is the same as the direct mail that gets sent to your home and you put straight in the bin without opening the letter.
The secret to attracting the visitor is to make sure you are trying to attract YOUR market, not the market. What I mean by that is most products and services are not for everyone. If you are trying to attract woman golf players use that term in your headline. That will get their attention. Then you need to hold their attention and to do this include a benefit for them.
Try “Women Golfers Slash Your Handicap In One Afternoon” instead of “Learn to Improve Your Golf”

The 2nd rule is once they have been attracted to your copy you have to keep them interested. Let them know how you have the solution to their problem and how it is cheaper, faster, better than anything else out there. Write about benefits to them. Everyone likes to read how their life is going to be improved by using your product.

The 3rd rule is establishing credibility before you ask for them to buy. If they have arrived on your site through the search engines they know nothing about you or your business. People are still very wary about buying from the internet that is why Amazon can sell products at a higher price than others because they have credibility. Everyone trusts them. Using testimonials helps gain trust, although some readers are skeptical about unnamed testimonials. Try to get testimonials that include a photo and the full name and location of the person giving the testimonial. A video testimonial works very well.
Attracting your markets attention, showing them the benefits and establishing credibility will increase your sales dramatically.
