The main focus I have in my head when I write an article is to get a reader to click on the article, read it to the end and to click onto the text anchor link in the bio. You see I just want the reader to sign up to my squeeze page and receive the free gift.
If I am able to entice the reader with the compelling article title, and content-rich information then I know the chances of them signing up to my list is high and I would have succeeded in my goal.
To ensure your article title delivers the promised content it is imperative that the two match up. What I mean by that is the article title must accurately describe and match up with the article content. You see if you promise in your headline to give “The 10 Most Vital Steps To Increasing Your Vocabulary”, and then inside the article you discussed the benefits of having an expansive vocabulary, and not mention the 10 steps until perhaps later on in the article, your reader will be disappointed and will probably click away from the article and continue their search.
There is nothing more frustrating than being attracted to an article by its enticing title which promises to give you the information you have been searching for, only to click onto the article and be presented with information of which you have no interest. Information that has no bearing on the headline.
A simple way to ensure that the article title matches up with the content is to write or create the title only after you have written the content. That way you can quickly scan what you have written and create a fairly descriptive title that matches it.
Another simple method is to write the article title first, and then continue to be aware of the article title whilst you are writing the content. If you can do this on a regular and consistent basis your readers will trust you and if the topic is something that they are interested in, they will look to you for additional information.
You should choose whichever method suits your style of writing the best. The main thing is to ensure that when the reader clicks onto your article they will be satisfied with its content and be delivered the promised goods.
It is only by writing great content that matches article titles that you will get your articles clicked on a regular and continuous basis.
