The Power Of Social Proof To Move Masses

People are motivated for a lot of reasons. For the most part, these reasons are unconscious and emotional, despite what we’d like to believe. The more scientists study the brain and the bio-chemical chain of events to lead to decisions, they more they realize that the conscious mind is and after the fact “story teller” that follows along.
It works like this. There’s a bunch of external stimuli. Our emotional buttons are triggered. We are spurred into action. Somewhere along the line our conscious minds figure out something’s up, and tries to put everything together in a logical, believable fashion.
The is largely due to evolution. Long ago, our brains had to decide between being super fast, or super accurate. Because all the guys who had slow but super accurate brains were eaten by tigers, the ones with super fast brains out-populated everybody else. When those dudes saw a tiger, they were already running away before they even knew what was going on.
Because humans are basically pack animals, meaning we live in groups and group thinking to a large extent plays in our decision making progress, our brain-body systems are hard-wired to respond to group behavior. This is largely unconscious. You’re walking down the street, and you see a crowd. Without any conscious input, you feel compelled to check out what they’re looking at.
As much as we’d like to believe we are logical, Spock-like creatures who reason everything out, we’re really very reactive, emotional, crowd following animals. Just look at the latest, trends behaviors and social phenomenon. There’s also been plenty of studies that bear this out. You get a group of people standing at a blank wall, and you’ll get plenty of people walking by and stare at that same wall for up to several minutes without having a clue why.
The technical term for this is social proof. If you are going to persuade anybody to do anything, you’ve got to have social proof. Having a lot of this will go a long ways. But unless you’ve got the right kind of social proof, it can backfire, sending people scrambling for the exits faster than mercury on a hot day.
What do you do in this case? Easy. There’s a special kind of language patterns you can use that will create massive amounts of social proof for any product or service you are selling to your customers. Not only will it be in large amounts, but it will be exactly the right kind to motivate your readers to action. This can you more sales, and more income.
