What Makes A Great Content Writer

A content writer has a variable amount of skills that often change throughout the course of their career. They may be awesome in one or two areas; they may suffer like the Adriatic trench in others. A good content writer will always provide a solution to a problem or help find solution variables to the problem. There are various methods to gauge the quality of a content writer and each client should develop their own check list. In a few moments, I will cover a general list of what to look for or to test for in a content provider.
It’s all about reviews for the content provider; a good review can make a day for the freelancer or break them. The power that each client holds should be held in special reserve and not an atomic weapon of death. One person’s opinion can make a difference as the freelancer is building up their portfolio; it is important to always be honest to the provider. If the content developer is constantly getting negative reviews on the services they are providing, it is best for the provider to reexamine every project they have handled. This subject matter will be discussed in another article.
How do you judge the quality of a content developer? Here is a general list that you can use to judge the provider by. After you get the content; check for language use, grammar, vocabulary, on topic relation, expertise level, and formatting and delivery time. These elements are critical to your success. The most basic scoring method is built on 1-5 stars or points and five being the highest. Go through the listed categories or create your own and rate them. After being 100% honest, write your review based on the strong points, then moderate points and the weak areas. It’s OK, if you don’t feel adequate to write a review.
Writing a review can be a challenge but if you have little experience in developing the content that you need, it can be a nightmare. Examine the content and decide on the value of the content. The quality of language, grammar and vocabulary should be suited for your audience; always make sure the provider knows your target audience. The formatting of the content should be no more than 100 words per paragraph with an average of 50. This breaks up the content into digestible bits; you don’t want it like soup, where it chokes you in the end. If the provider delivers late on the project, dock them a half a star for every day or 12 hours that they are late. Unless you approve of the additional time, then base it on the effectiveness of the quality.
Content providers will use your review to either get better or really annoyed. Do not worry, over 80% of professional writers will consider your remarks and adjust accordingly. Your comments, rather good or bad are valued by those who write professionally. If you are unhappy with the turnout of a particular piece, send it back and ask them to improve upon it. Let them know what works and doesn’t, it will make life easier on the both of you.
