3 Special Ceremonies for your Wedding in Atrani

Atrani, with its delightful view over the Mediterranean Sea, is a wonderful little town on the Amalfi coast, only a few miles away from Ravello. Being one of the few medieval cities which has preserved its narrow streets and small squares perfectly untouched, Atrani definitely is a delightful place to get married in.
To address every different taste in matter of weddings, Atrani offers three different types of ceremonies which will surely make your destination wedding in Italy even more special.

Civil Wedding Ceremony
A simple building located in the very heart of town hosts the local registry office, in which civil weddings are performed. The marriage hall can be reached by an impressive alley that leads to the municipality from the centre of town, it is small and intimate, able to hold up to 40/50 guests, ideal for couples desiring a ceremony performed in a secluded and out of touristy path. It’s also possible to have personalized vows, poems, readings and music. Guitar and mandolin music entertainment is recommended.

Catholic Wedding Ceremony
Acting as a romantic jointure between sky and sea, Atrani’s church of Santa Maria Maddalena is an astonishing setup for a marriage: its barrel vault and its two baroque windows on the single internal room make every ceremony look even more spectacular. In addition, it’s possible to have a florist decorate the church’s interiors with scented flowers and music played by a classic musician. To enjoy the view and the setting at its best, the recommended time to get married in Atrani is, of course, from April to November. The ceremony is performed in Italian and translated by an English-speaking Interpreter.

Protestant Wedding Ceremony
Facing the Gulf from the central Piazza, the 13th century church boasts an impressive baroque façade, with a beautiful bell tower and majolica dome. Protestant pastors perform both marriage blessings or legal binding ceremonies, surrounded by incredible sea views and a beautifully decorated interior. Every ceremony can have customized readings and poems as well as organ or violin music. Specific paperwork requirements are needed in order to have a protestant ceremony with legal validity. Our staff will assist you through all the steps.
