While enjoying the last days of summer, most people are going back to school, work, or starting a new project this month! When it comes to fashion, now is the time that we start making the transition to our Fall wardrobe, and it can be difficult to know which items we should invest in for the upcoming year, and how to wear them in mid-season.
Here at Spartoo we have done the research for you, and we’ve got the latest news for the top trends you can be sure of this Autumn and Winter!:
The sweater dress: This is bound to be the biggest staple piece in many wardrobe’s in the upcoming season. Long sleeved short dresses and sweater dresses are perfect for transitioning to Fall because you can wear them with bare legs in warm weather, or add some funky tights or faux leather leggings when the temperatures drop. Worn with anything from booties to high boots to flats, these dresses are versatile and practical!
The bucket bag: Chalk it up to the rebirth of the 90s this past summer—goodbye to tiny handbags and large tote bags, because the bucket bag is back in full force! With a definitive drawstring closure on top, this type of bag can hold a lot more than you think!
Faux fur: This trend is continuing from last year, but with a new twist: colours! Whether it’s a pair of booties, snow boots, a jumper, a waistcoat or a winter coat, you’ll see colourful faux fur popping up everywhere! This can add a lot of warmth to a mid-season outfit, and also provides an ultra-sophisticated allure.
Quilted material: Another vestige from the current retro revolution, puffy quilted materials are cropping up in the most unexpected places, like on trainers, jumpers, and skirts. The advantage for mid-season is that this material provides enough warmth, you can rock your outfit without wearing a jacket! This urban style looks great with a pair of wedge trainers or retro low tops.
Floral patterns on black: Rivaling the Navajo print that is also ubiquitous right now, florals are in bloom once again for Fall, but this time they’ve got a dark side: floral patterns with dark backgrounds like navy blue or black are taking over! If you are looking for a cute top, a new casual dress or a pair of shoes, you’ll find that all the major designers have incorporated the floral-on-black trend into their new collections.
