Can Article Marketing Still Work Even After Google Updates

In this article I am going to discuss whether article marketing is still a good strategy to use for traffic and whether it will continue to be so as Google continues to update and change it’s algorithms. The key question is – what is the purpose of your articles?
If you have a new business or your business is more established one of the most important parts of your marketing strategy is to continually bring new prospects into your business. In order to do this you need to make people aware of what you offer.
So how can you increase people’s awareness of your online business?
Writing articles is a very good way of communicating your brand and what your values are.
Whether you place that article on your own website or another website your purpose should still be the same and that is to communicate why people should come to you rather than your competition.
When people talk about the effectiveness of article marketing and whether you can still gain traffic from writing articles even after the recent Google updates, they are specifically talking about search engine traffic.
If your own website has a lot of authority in the search engines then it would make sense to write your articles on your own site. However, if another website has more search engine traffic than your own site then it makes sense to submit your articles to that website.
Let’s just think about article directories. There are no doubt many article directories that get very little search engine traffic however, the well-known authority article directories still get a good amount of search engine traffic. What is often forgotten is that when people are looking for help with something or they are looking for content to put on their own website, article directories are a good place to look.
You will discover that submitting an article to an article directory is not just about getting traffic from search engine results it is also about getting traffic from people who use the article directories specifically when looking for help on something. Also your article can be distributed to other websites and if those websites have a good amount of traffic you may also see traffic appearing from those sites.
My own experience has been that I still gain a lot of traffic by writing articles and submitting them to article directories. However, I also write articles to submit to my own website and also other websites that get a lot of visitors.
