The lack of words or the wrong choice of words are a few barriers that a would-be writer has to overcome. It is an obstacle that prevails unless and until the writer becomes a reader. He should know the value of continued learning about properly using the words; be able to write a spectacular piece one day and become an expert in conveying this to the world. Yes, a writer can “power-up” his writing with strong vocabulary, and he can pump up his lingo by steadfastly learning fresh words and benefit from it in the long run.
A writer has enormous overwhelming ideas inside his brain. Some of them are successfully communicated through, while another thought remains as mere thought. It has not reached anyone’s attention. It has not been communicated to the voracious readers on the web. For an insignificant mistake of not reading, his idea will be forever lost in nothingness.
It is not a concealed information, especially for writers, that words give them the medium to convey, to share, to express anything to their audience. Without the words, how can one express an idea and put into writing? This is one very depressing thought, indeed. I force myself to understand a toddler ‘s frustration of not being able to tell everyone what he likes. Fully surrounded with older kids, big sister, mom, and dad, grandma and grandpa, yet he doesn’t get the precise object of his demands! He is not being understood. He cries for food; somebody gives a toy. He asks for a toy and mom sends him to sleep! Is it not that irritating, discouraging and frustrating? Do you think you feel the same way if you are a writer, and you keep wondering how on earth you can bring across that fantastic idea to your readers? You may have the words, but then it is not exactly received by your audience the way you want it delivered to them?
That is exactly how words can offer comfort to a writer’s life, but it is not at all easy. It takes a lot of self-motivation – to read, and read more, and then to write, write and write with ever-increasing enthusiasm. There are no shortcuts to self-evident routes to writing. Acquisition of your vocabulary words and making them readily available as you write books, articles or what have you, will need a bit of a struggle. You will be reaping its fruit sooner than you expect if, and only if, you practice thoroughly and steadfastly. Once you do that you become a good writer who can pull out the precise word at the right time to make good writing more powerful.
