Creating an outline is one of the most vital tools that a writer must have when writing their article. Without a solid outline, it’ll be hard for writers to create a good quality article for readers to enjoy and gain information from. Most people just “go with the flow” when writing articles but it just results to poorly written articles that have no value to any reader.
An outline will give you an overview of your whole article, just like having a blueprint of a house. It’ll steer you to the right direction of what you need to do so that you’ll end up having a strong foundation of your house that can withstand anything.
Here are the steps to create an outline for your article:
Title
The first thing that every reader notices is the title. The title must state almost everything there is to your article. That doesn’t mean you have to write a very long title. It must have a strong effect on the reader. It must be something that will lure them to read further into your article or gets them curious. Most people love mysteries.
Your title may change as you go on to writing your article. You might think of a better title to suit the topics because the first one doesn’t seem fit.
Introduction
Just like the title, the introduction must also possess enticing words. If the title can’t say it all then your introduction is the back-up plan for that. Catch your reader’s attention with this part of your outline, make it very interesting. For example, “if you want to know how to earn fast money online then I will tell you 5 secrets of how to do that”. That’ll definitely spark the interest of your reader, who would not want to know how to earn fast money online?
Topics
This is the main body of your article. This is where you write the information needed by the readers on how to achieve certain things like earning fast money online. It could be also answers to their problems like “how to wash away impossible stains”.
Include 3 topics about your article and 2-3 subtopics within your main topic. That’ll fill out tons of details for your readers.
Conclusion/Summary
This is pretty much the summarization of everything you just wrote. It might include your final thoughts on the topics and you can include links to other articles that are related to your topic that gives them more information on the subject matter.
Follow these steps for your outline and you’ll be able to write articles that come out better than you expected. Start with an enticing title but remember that it may change along the way. Next is an also enticing introduction that will grab the reader’s attention. Third is thinking of topics and subtopics to include that closely relates to your article. Lastly, your conclusion or summary of the topics you’ve covered. Keep practicing with this outline and eventually you’ll become an expert on this.
