7 Practical Tips For Newbie Bloggers

Learning to blog can’t be achieved in one sitting. It’s a never ending stage and always have to focus to prevent the same mistakes to happen again. You will feel disheartened at first but if you are determined to learn, you will totally enjoy creating a blog.
Online tutorials are abounding for new bloggers out there who feel clueless about what they’re doing. Once you’ve got the technical aspect covered, it’s time to move on. You’d soon find out that blogging is also about writing, marketing (articles) and networking, among others. But things like these are not usually discussed in tutorials, so I am laying out these practical tips for new bloggers:
1. Make use of complimentary services – You don’t have to spend much in blogging especially when you are just starting. You might be attracted to buy blog stuff that you see online and think that you can’t blog without them. But given that you are still not earning from your blog, you have choices that offers free services, such as blog hosting, mailing list software, blog stats and image hosting.
2. Get your own domain name – Domain registration should be your priority list in your blogging expenses. Blogs can create an impact through their domain names. It turns out to be the brand name which you will use for a long time. It is not that expensive but it’s a worthy investment for your blog. It’s better to do this now than to upgrade a free domain name to a paid one at the peak of your success.
3. KISS articles – Keep it Short and Simple (KISS) should be your mantra when writing blog articles. Most readers will initially stumble upon your blog through a search engine. This demonstrates their need for a certain information, and if they discover your article to be too lengthy, they might not follow your blog at all. Do not beat around the bush and keep away from technical jargon. Simplicity can go a long way in blogging.
4. Find useful (free) widgets -Some coding knowledge is a plus when handling a blog (example: CSS, HTML). But don’t fret if you know zilch about it. In fact, your lack of knowledge is to your advantage so you wouldn’t attempt to code all of it. Therefore, you should look for helpful widgets that can add to the improvement of your blog. Others have probably done what you’re trying to do on your blog, like add pagination, create a lightbox album or link to an amazon store. All you have to do is look for a free code to add to your blog.
5. Explore other blogs – Bloggers become skilled by reading stories of different authors and other blogs as well. It would be less difficult to know more about the blogging business from a co-blogger than a whole textbook as your reference. By reading other blogs, you will be exposed to different writing styles which you can maybe adapt into your own style to improve your articles.
6. Learn to contribute – If you want to attract more followers on your blog, share your knowledge by giving valuable information. Make sure that all necessary details are included on your write-up. Other well-known bloggers made it to the top by sharing their secrets, like giving tutorials on how to create perfect dishes or how to detect if someone is hacking your computer system.
7. Reach out to everybody. The blogosphere is a universal community so better take the opportunity to connect to worldwide readers. You can start by using a language that pretty much all nations understand: English. Others are difficult to entertain but at least make a move to delight the majority, so engage in topics that nearly all can absorb or provide more descriptions when you are talking about something that’s the same to your traditions.
Most of the newbie bloggers are easily giving up because they allow themselves to be overwhelmed with all the blogging issues. But if you are truly dedicated, blogging will be effortless.
