Using Article Marketing To Rank With Keywords

Article marketing is a very good way to promote your weblog or website. It can initially come across as a bit daunting for the beginning internet marketer, trying to come up with different ways to say the same thing. In fact, you may be looking at it the wrong way; what you want to do is say something related to the post you want to promote, and use different experiences to elaborate on it. Whichever way you choose, be sure to use the keywords you want to target as anchor text links in the resource box; avoiding any HTML links in the body of the article – in general.
The best way to set a plan of action for your article marketing endeavors is to choose a set of keywords for which you want to rank. Use search strings to locate the page these keywords show up for in Google search, and start planning the number of articles you will write based on those keywords. For low-competition keywords, you may be able to rank highly just by writing and submitting 2-3 articles! These are almost always long-tail keywords, though, and may take a good deal of research to locate them. For medium competition keywords (as determined using a tool such as the Google Keyword Tool available to AdWords subscribers – a less complete tool can be used by everyone), you may have to start thinking in the tens of articles, for every single keyword for which you wish to rank. High competition keywords are usually reserved for those internet marketers that don’t mind writing a book’s worth of articles to rank highly for a couple of keywords. These are usually dominated by companies with deep pockets that can afford to hire armies of article writers to pitch their product, or simply engage a Google AdWords campaign.
As an independent and probably individual article marketer who can’t reasonably compete with the big companies needs a plan to rank. Choose long-tail keywords that have a good number of searches, but low competition. You will probably want to choose a handful of these, so that the total overall traffic will be sizable. Then simply, start writing articles! Be sure not to only place links to your blog in these articles, also put links to articles you’ve written that are live in prominent article directories, because promoting articles helps make your overall links look coveted, and that is what rising in the search engine pages is all about.
A robust-enough article marketing program will definitely get you closer to your goal for low to medium competition keywords, and is within the individual marketer’s grasp, if she’s willing to do the work.
