If you are a writer, then there’s never been a better time to be in business. Even if you are just starting out, and you’ve never sold a single word, you can easily jump start your career and start making some cash. All you’ve got to do is be able to write, and present your work to the public.
Why is it so easy? For one, there is an explosion in online content. More and more people are getting into marketing on the Internet. Either people who just want to get in on some of the action, or people that actually have a shop selling stuff, and who want to expand.
Either way, these people are desperate for one thing: Content. This is the stuff that makes the Internet go around. This is the stuff that gets their sites ranked in Google so that everybody who is interested in their products can find them.
It’s easy to understand why so many people need content. Imagine somebody who’s got a bakery. Maybe they’ve been in business for a few years. They’ve got a steady stream of customers. But they need to expand. They are in a big city, and not too many people know about them. Sure, they could advertise, but this is risky, and doesn’t always offer a positive return.
The obvious solution would be to start a website. This is easy enough these days. Hosting is cheap. There are plenty of easy software options that making setting up a website a snap. They can easily take pictures of their shop and upload them easy as pie.
But when it comes to putting words on their site, words that will not only describe their business, but describe it enough so that people will want to come in and have a look, well, that’s where many business owners fall short. Sure, they may be great at baking bread, but writing about it just isn’t their cup of tea.
That’s where people like you come in. Just put yourself in their shoes. They’ve got a website, but all it has is pictures. With the right text on there, the right words, they can get a lot more business. Maybe with a well written website, they’ll get an extra couple thousand dollars a month in business.
How much do you think they’ll pay you to fill up their website with descriptive words that make their bakery sound compelling, and their bread sound delicious? If you can bring them an extra couple grand a month, they’ll pay you quite a bit.
And how many shops do you think exist today like this bakery? Hundreds? Thousands? All waiting for people like you to help them increase their business. And all you’ve got to do is write.
Are you ready?
