Well, as a retired entrepreneur, and having been doing a little bit of writing in my retirement, I wonder how much longer human writers will be needed. In fact, I already see the writing on the wall, literally being done by computers. As we move from regular books, into e-books, and as artificial intelligence becomes more intelligent, and is able to put together creative works by knowing all of the genres known to mankind along with all the possible character names, and psychological profiles, it’s just a matter of time. Okay so, let’s talk about this for second shall we?
Once an artificial intelligent computer is able to put together creative fiction to the point that it entertains humans, and humans can no longer tell the difference that it was written by a human or a computer, it’s all over. In fact, one supercomputer could create 100,000 new unique novels in less than a minute. Indeed, considering all of your information on social networks, it could scan every piece of information you’ve ever put online, know your interests, and create a novel that you will enjoy a, specially made for you, based on your preferences, and could do it in 0.002635721 seconds.
It is interesting when I bring up this point to members of our think tank, their minds appear not to be able to grasp the concept. However, we already have artificial intelligent computers which can scan hundreds of news stories pulling out the; who, what, when, where, why, and how to any event which has occurred globally. These computers can then put that information together, and create a news story. In fact, some of the news stories you may have read online, were not created by human. They are merely compilations of other news articles which were created by humans, but they were put together in a collage by an artificial intelligent software program.
Further, I believe to answer the question which is actually the title of this article:
We can have self-editing books for human writers and they will be coming soon I presume.
Now you might think that there is no way a computer can write poetry, edit, or do art which would be pleasing to humans. And you may believe, albeit falsely, that a computer can never be as creative as a human being, but from what I am seeing presently with the incredible advances in technology, I would submit to you that if you are of that belief system then you are totally wrong.
Therefore, I would like to ask you how does it feel to be so naive, so species-centric, and so unbelievably foolish to not see the writing on the wall? Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it. And, I hope I haven’t made you feel too inferior today – human question mark.
