Killer Copywriting That Sells Like Crazy!

One interesting website defines killer copywriting as a way to “…stop people dead in their tracks and force them to devour every single word of copy you write…” The same website goes on to explain the intention of killer copywriting which is “…to tap into the greed gland of every single person reading your copy…”
Not surprisingly, all the words within the quotation marks mentioned above were in bold, highlighted, and underlined. The site even warned of the usage of language which may be offensive and even went on to proclaim that they (the site owners) know how to put prospective readers into a “trance and forces them to buy your products” because, according to them, “99.9% of Madison Avenue type agencies are full of bull!” The website may be hard core HARD sell but it surely succeeded in driving home the point as to what killer copywriting can be!
To put it simply, killer copywriting is nothing but mastering persuasion tactics and writing a steady stream of winning promotions that can eventually result in booming sales. There is no magical secret about mastering killer copywriting techniques. Chances are, the more ‘gimmicky’ your website sounds, the more number of people would feel put off and actually navigate to a different site.
You can put up posters, banners, anything to attract traffic but being unnaturally persuasive can result in loss of potential customers. Always remember that it is words that will save your day in the end. Your words, thus, have to have a strong impact on your potential customers’ minds. As soon as a visitor comes across your product there will be several questions in his mind but the biggest question among them all would be: Why do I need this? If you can answer this question in the most compelling manner, then you can sell your product to this customer without hesitation.
The best way to get a reader hooked on to your site is to write a brilliant headline. Explain in a terse, highly emotive sentence what benefits can your product bring. A prospective client is not really interested whether your product is the ‘best in the world’ or how high has it ranked. All the client wants to know is whether it would solve his problem or not. Yes? Then he will consider turning the page and reading more about it. No? Forget it! There are other websites he can look at.
Some well known copywriters have used the phrase ‘trigger words’ while explaining a good copy. Trigger words are words that would trigger certain thoughts in the readers’ minds that would lead them further into purchasing your product. Careful use of such trigger words would enhance your copy’s effectiveness and would definitely make yours a killer copy! Apart from headlines and trigger words, sending the right response mails also helps in making killer sales. And you don’t have to go overboard with words. An understated but highly potent sales mail is much more effective than a brazenly worded mail with little to deliver.
