You Must Believe Your Writing Can Make a Difference
Stephen King would never have been such a successful writer if he didn’t believe his books could make a difference. Kids would have missed Harry Potter if Ms. Rowling hadn’t started the writing process, believing her unique perspective was worth writing about. It all ended up in 7 big volumes about the adventures of Harry Potter.
You can also make a difference, but you must believe in it before you get the momentum to start moving.
Start the Process
Starting the process can never hurt. Even if you discard your first attempts, you will be glad you started the process, because that is one of the keys to success. No-one can succeed if he doesn’t try to make the initial effort.
But the worst part, for any potential author, is realizing that if you don’t write about the subject maybe no-one else ever will – and certainly never from your unique perspective. You must believe in yourself to be motivated.
The Review Phase
Getting a friend to read your material, and make the necessary edits is beneficial for both of you. Suddenly you may find your material was far better than even you yourself could have hoped for. This pad on the back would never have been given if you never started the process.
