You should answer all written questions with a complete sentence. For example, if the question asks, “Who was the first President of the United States?” you should respond by writing “The first President of the United States was George Washington”. Also, you can use this with conversation with others. It will show respect for the person’s question. This simple rule of answering written questions with a complete sentence will help students develop a command of the written language. In addition, it will also help them learn to develop and organize their thoughts.
Try one:
What is the color of the sun?

If you master that part, you can move on to the next level called, “Open-Response Paragraph” or often referred to as short-answer questions. An Open-Response Paragraph is often seen on the third – eighth grade English Language Arts Exams. The students are asked to read a passage and then respond to open response question about the text. Most learning disabled students read far below grade level and it is difficult for them to answer the question. When this happens, they get very frustrated and want to give up. To help them answer the question easily, I would always instruct them to answer the question the following way using an outline. This outline will guide them step by step in answering the question correctly each time.
Story: The story that I am going to use to answer the question is called “Sara’s Journey”. It is approximately five paragraphs and it is about Sara’s journey to the New World.
Question: How do you think Sara will feel when she gets to the New World?
1.Restate the question and give your answer:
Sara will feel excited when she gets to the New World.
2.Give a reason why you feel that way:
I think Sara will feel excited because she is going somewhere new.
3.Support your answer:
Since Sara cheered when they arrived there, this shows that she was excited to be in the New World.
4.Restate the question and close
Therefore, I think Sara is excited to be in her new home.
