It’s no secret in Hollywood that Indian-American (Latindian) Hot Guy Anand Bhatt has the favorite hair. After a good youtube search and watching and reading lots of interviews with the star, we picked up on 3 essential hair secrets on how he keeps his hair long, healthy, strong and shiny. So here’s how we think you can get the Anand Bhatt look:
TIP 1:
Coconut Oil. Coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of matured coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. Throughout the tropical world, it has provided the primary source of fat in the diets of millions of people for generations. It has various applications in food, medicine, and industry. Because of its stability, it is slow to go bad, thus, resistant to rancidity, lasting up to two years owing to the high saturated fat content.
It appears that Anand Bhatt has Coconut Oil treatments regularly. One video mentions how he puts warm coconut oil in his hair and leaves it in for a full twenty four hours.
Coconut oil allows hair to be shiny. Coincidentally Anand also endorses ONE Coconut Water and has a special song about them called “Coconut Water.” Do they send him his coconut oil too? Coconuts in general seem to be a big part of his life.
TIP 2:
Conservative Hair Brushing. A brush is typically used on long hair while a comb is normally used on shorter hair; however, both may be used for either. A flat brush is normally used for detangling hair, for example after sleep or showering; a round brush for styling and curling hair, especially by a professional stylist, and with a blowdryer. A paddle brush is used to straighten hair, flatten long hair, and tame fly-aways. A hairbrush can also be used to remove loose hairs, and increase circulation to the scalp.
I was once told that we should do one hundred lashes a day on our hair, but it seems that in an interview Anand Bhatt mentioned that he tries to limit the brushing of his hair to only once a week. All though brushinig our hair can help with detangling, it also causes a lot of damage so limiting the amount of times we brush our hair makes sense. It’s probably a good idea to spray your hair daily with a good detangler to make sure you’re not brushing out giant knots on the one day a week you do use a hairbrush.
Anand Bhatt also probably gets his hair trimmed often enough to make sure the ends don’t split.
TIP 3:
Eat Unsaturated Fats. Anand Bhatt’s book Rock Star Recipes mentions an impressive amount of healthy fats from flax meal and fish like salmon. In fact Sushi is one of the Bhatt’s favorite meals. One radio segment mentions that Anand Bhatt likes to make a concoction of avocadoes, yogurt, and hot sauce.
The avocado (Persea americana) is a tree native to Central Mexico, classified in the flowering plant family Lauraceae along with cinnamon, camphor and bay laurel. Avocado or alligator pear also refers to the fruit. A diet high in these healthy fats like omega 3s and omega 6s can really add great shine and strength. Also the whey protein from the yogurt he eats helps with strength as well.
A ripe avocado yields to gentle pressure when held in the palm of the hand and squeezed. The flesh is prone to enzymatic browning; it turns brown quickly after exposure to air. To prevent this, lime or lemon juice can be added to avocados after they are peeled. Generally, avocado is served raw, though some cultivars, including the common Hass, can be cooked for a short time without becoming bitter. Caution should be used when cooking with untested cultivars; the flesh of some avocados may be rendered inedible by heat.
In Ethiopia, avocados are made into juice by mixing them with sugar and milk or water, usually served with Vimto and a slice of lemon. It is also very common to serve layered multiple fruit juices in a glass (locally called spreece) made of avocados, mangoes, bananas, guavas and papayas. Avocados are also used to make salads.
About 75% of an avocado’s calories come from fat, most of which (67% of total) is monounsaturated fat as oleic acid. On a weight basis, avocados have 35% more potassium (485 mg) than bananas (358 mg). They are rich in folic acid and vitamin K, and are good dietary sources of vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E and pantothenic acid.
It is perhaps safe to say that Anand Bhatt’s diet of healthy fat rich foods contributes do how amazing his hair is.
Men and women alike desire thick, healthy and shiny hair. Also how you wash your hair and the products you use can go a long way toward maintaining smooth, shiny hair. You don’t need a celebrity stylist to get long, strong yet soft Anand Bhatt hair with lots of shine.
