Once the writer has developed an idea for an interesting article it’s time to start putting the pieces together. This will be an easy process, especially if the idea is well developed.
Start at the beginning with an opening paragraph describes the topic you are writing about. This paragraph should have a topic statement in the first sentence. The rest of the paragraph should elaborate on the subject matter that will be contained in the body of your article, making it sound interesting without giving too much of the article away.
The body of the article will follow with the information presented according to its importance to the readers understanding of the information in the article. The majority of articles are best written in paragraph form, with each sentence leading fluidly to the next. To make the article more easily understood, a smooth transition between paragraphs should be crafted..
Different types are articles may require a different treatment. If you want your reader to consider several ideas that you will be including in the article, you may want to consider dividing the article into groups of information. Separate the information groups with subheadings. This is a good way to keep the article cohesive when a smooth transition of paragraphs seems impossible.
Some articles have information that is best presented in a list format. If your list is about tasks or steps that must be done in a certain order or are presented as most important to least important, use a numbered list to present the important points. If the order of the list doesn’t matter, present the information in the list using unnumbered bullets.
As you come to the end of the article the writer will want to reiterate the key points of the article. The conclusion should never repeat the information that is found in the main body of the article, but rather point to it. The good conclusion will prove that the thesis or topic statement has been examined and the article has delivered on what the writer promised in the lead paragraph.
A good writer will be able to craft the conclusion paragraph of the article without using the words summary or conclusion.
If images are to be used with the article, the writer can use captions for them that will expand on the content of the article. Good article captions are more than a title of the picture.
