Wood Paneling Makes for Beautiful Homes

When you remember paneling, do you think of your parent’s home way back in the 1960s through the 1990s? Was their paneling a cheap imitation of beautiful wood? Were there two choices, dark or light? Or just plain ugly, without character? That type of paneling is still available and it is rather inexpensive when compared with the real beauty of wood paneling.

Today the choices have expanded to include higher end wood paneling and there’s nothing cheap about them. When installed in a room by a professional, the room takes on an entirely new look with raised panel accents. Many prefer every wall including the ceiling to be installed in an in-house library, the room becomes soft and quiet similar to the hush you’d feel in the public library.

The exquisite beauty of the walls require elegant furniture and accent tables to bring it to the sophistication it deserves. However maybe elegance isn’t your cup of tea. Possibly you’d prefer knotty pine in your man cave with a stag’s head hanging over the fireplace. Those are only two examples of the choices you would have, but others are available all the way in between exquisite and playful.

The wood paneling would transform a basement into a well-designed playroom complete with pool table or ping pong table. Or possibly you’d prefer half walls of wood paneling in your dining room. Many prefer to paint the panels; others would never cover the grains of wood.

Whether you decide on raised wood panels and when your choices include every wall and ceiling, or only one wall, the choices are endless. The paneling can match or contrast other wood pieces in a room. The wood paneling also acts as a barrier to obscure sound outside of the room.

Installing the wood paneling could turn out to be a difficult job for many do-it-yourselfers. If that is the case in your home, you might be wise to call an experienced contractor to purchase and install the wood paneling for you.

Be sure to instruct the contractor so he will know exactly what you want, and if 2nds will not work in your home, have him be very strict in the paneling he chooses. If the contractor has a place of business, it might be best for you to go to his business and see exactly what he can do in your home. Whether you see pictures or actual samples, you should be able to pick and choose exactly what you want. Click Here For More Information
