Article Format Example – Managing Your Time Online

There are plenty of things you need to focus on when it comes to building a successful business online. One of elements is controlling your time. Unfortunately one of the biggest time wasters is actually the internet. The second biggest time waster is the television. Believe it or not, most people waste over 70 hours per week watching their favourite program on television.
The simplest solution to this time zapper is to turn it off. Switch it off and make a pact not to watch any further tv until you are generating the income you desire – whether that’s $1,000, $5,000 or even $20,000 per month online.
Promise yourself you will not watch any program until you are generating the income you desire.
Once that has been taken care of, the second thing is to stop surfing online. I know the internet is an important tool in your information gathering exercise. The internet is where you can find an endless array of information and if generating an income is your main focus at the moment then surely you need to continue surfing?
However, with the internet you start off searching for something and three or four hours later you are still finding snippets of information. During that time you have read perhaps ten articles, three or four sales pages, read information contained in several forums and you still have not found what it is you are looking for.
In future when you need to find information online, you should set yourself a time limit to do so. 15 minutes should be sufficient to find information on one particular topic or aspect. Do not do more than one search per day. That way your knowledge is increasing every day without having to waste hours online surfing.
Another important time waster which is not discussed much is that not testing or carrying out something new until you have learnt everything there is to know about that particular topic. For instance, if you are new to article writing and don’t have a clue of where to start, do some research online – no more than 15 minutes – and make a list of what you find out.
Then immediately put into action what you have learnt. Don’t worry if its wrong. The good thing about doing new things is that not only do you discover if it works or not, but you also learn how to make improvements whether you learn from your errors online or from your own intuition.
