BEST WESTERN Hotel Astoria and the Picasso exhibition

BEST WESTERN Astoria Hotel invites its guests to take advantage of the offer devoted to the Picasso exhibition at the Royal Palace and visit its more than 200 works, including “La Celestina”, “Man with Mandolin”, “Portrait of Olga” , “Two Women Running on the Beach”, “Paul as Harlequin”, “Portrait of Dora Maar” and “Supplicant”.

The exhibition is curated by Anne Baldassari, internationally recognized as one of the most important scholars of Picasso as well as director of the Musée National Picasso in Paris, which houses the world’s largest collection of works by the Spanish painter, and offers the possibility to admire the entire artistic career of Picasso, commonly divided into phases: the blue period and the pink one, the African or proto-cubist period, synthetic and classic cubism period, surrealist paintings, the period of political involvement and the paintings about the war up to the last works before his death in 1972.
The exhibition, which will be held at the Royal Palace until January 6th 2013, also includes a special section devoted to the exhibition of Picasso held in 1953, when it was exhibited for the first time in Italy “Guernica”, and workshops for children aged from 4 to 10 years that at the end of the tour, armed with pens and paint, can engage in the portraits following the Picasso’s style.
