Article Writing – Eight Tips To Write More Articles

Article writing is the skill of writing articles. A simple definition of an article is a short and complete piece of writing. An article is usually written about a specific topic. Writing an article involves preparation and although sometimes it can be arduous, the rewards far outweigh the effort involved.
However, everyone involved in article writing will tell you that, at one time or other, when faced with the task of writing an article, they had suffered from what is known as “writer’s block”. This is when a person’s mind blanks out as to what he / she intends to write about. This is very frustrating and can demotivate the person intending to write an article. The problem is exacerbated when the writer depends on articles for his main source of traffic.
To overcome this situation, here are eight tips to get article writing ideas:
1. Read the articles you wrote and find some points to expand upon. These could be sub-headings or keywords of minor importance and they can lend themselves to altogether creating a new article.
2. Search a topic you wrote about in the search engines and get ideas from the results you displayed. Sometimes a simple search will uncover sub topics that one can expand upon.
3. Using the method outlined in 2 above, check the keywords of the highest ranking websites to get more keyword ideas. Just right-click on the website, click View Source and search for the word “keywords” within the HTML code. The keywords meta tag will list all the keywords of that website and you could use these as ideas to create more articles.
4. Browse the categories and sub-categories of an article directory for suggestions and topics and after read a few articles within to get some ideas.
5. Use a keyword tool (like Google AdWords Keyword tool) and enter the main keyword of an article you wrote. Create articles using the suggested keywords displayed by the keyword tool. By searching within the results, you will be able to get even more keywords that spark off more article writing ideas.
6. See what other people are looking for in forums related to the niche you like writing about. A clever comment here and there can quickly arouse the article creative juices.
7. Use Google’s Wonder Wheel and online forums to get even more ideas.
8. Read the titles of articles you wrote some time ago, without looking at their content and try to write the article from scratch. The knowledge you would have gained since then should help you produce a different and more informative article than you wrote back then.
These eight tips should help you to mentally prepare yourself to beat “writer’s block” and write more articles.
