How To Write Article And Blog Posts That Compel Readers To Take Action

Over the past year or so, the amount of people blogging and creating content in general has skyrocketed. As is the case with any other influx of people into a certain niche, much of this content creation stinks!
Now, that’s actually good news for you. You see, if you can write a coherent article with a clear purpose in mind, you’ll stand out above all the mediocre junk on the web.
But, many of you will say that you’re just not any good at writing. I’m going to give you a few tips and suggestions, many of which you can implement even if you are the worst writer in the world.
First of all, if your article even looks intimidating, you’ll get most of the people clicking away from your content before you’ve had a chance to impress them with your writing. Use short sentences and short paragraphs. The more white space on the page means less intimidation for your prospect. Sometimes, when you’re flipping through a magazine, you come across ads for different types of medication. These usually are written in small types with few or no paragraph breaks. Before you even begin reading it, you say to yourself “This is just too long, I’m not gonna get into this.” Nobody reads the article. It’s like if I wrote this whole post in paragraphs like this one, I guarantee you would have clicked away before you began reading it:)
Another tip is to break up the words while reading it. One way is to use parentheses (like this) because it is easier on the eyes when you break up sentences (and not to mention you can include interesting side notes without messing with the mojo of your work).
Now, a few other ways is to use bold, italics, underlines, and “quotation marks”. These are all other ways to inherently make what you’re writing seem more interesting. It gives it personality!
Next, one of my favorites is to begin a paragraph with a transition word. It automatically makes the content flow from one subject to the next. Notice I usually begin my paragraphs with a word like “Now” “But” “First of all” “Next” “And”.
And the cool part is, you probably didn’t even notice I was doing it. It seems natural. In fact, it’s a bad thing if you are actively noticing my writing format and style because I want you to focus on the message.
Of course, the most important part is having a clear “thesis” in mind. Know what point you are trying to get across and don’t deviate. Sometimes, it’s better to create 2 or 3 posts instead of jumbling it all up into 1.
These tips will guarantee you more readership because your visitors will (whether consciously or subconsciously) find your articles pleasing to read.
