Hiring A Writer – You Get What You Pay For

When you’re looking at hiring a writer, there are a lot of factors to take into consideration. I understand the process because I have been there before when seeking content for my sites. Unfortunately, it can be very difficult to find a writer that meets your needs and your budget with quality results. But the one thing that is so important to keep in mind is that you get what you pay for.
I see projects going on freelancing bid sites for batches of 10 articles at 400 or more words for $30 or less. This comes out to $3 per article. The saddest part is that some so-called writers work for even less, undercutting the already atrociously low wage. I’ve written plenty of articles and blog posts telling writers why they should not work for such pennies but no one really explains to the client where the problem lies. It’s important the client is aware of the risks involved in such low pricing for writing.
Here are some issues with buying into lowball offers on your writing tasks:
You get work from people who are not experienced or qualified in writing or in the specific writing tasks that you need.
You get work from people who do not speak the native language that you want the articles written in.
You get spun or rewritten content- usually very poor copies of existing content on the Web.
You get writers who do not take themselves seriously as professionals and therefore, do not take your projects seriously either.
When it comes to writing projects, you get what you pay for. When you are looking for quality content to fill your website or for an article marketing campaign, you can actually be wasting your money by choosing the cheapest bidder. Buying content is an investment. When you are not willing to put in more than bottom-of-the-barrel rates, you will not get more than low-end results.
Cheap, poor quality content will make you look foolish to readers and potential clients or customers, will hurt your search engine ranking and in some cases, might be so bad it gets you completely banned by search engines such as Google. Stolen content might even get you sued. Is that a risk you are willing to take by choosing the cheapest writer you can find online?
