We Should All Be Millionaires!

If you believe most of the sales copy hype, we should all be Millionaires… unbelievable but true.
I just spent a few minutes browsing through the special offers thread on a popular ‘internet marketing forum’ and taking note of the various headlines….
OMG. How much BS are we willing to put up with?!?
For example – do we really believe that if we spend 15 bucks that we’re going to be able to make $1,500 in just 10 minutes?
Is this what it’s come to in the world of sales copy these days to make even a single sale?
Small wonder people get so many refunds and chargebacks!
Small wonder so many customers are disgruntled and blow away their dreams because they couldn’t replicate what others said they should be able to do.
There is just way to much sales copy hype in today internet business world!
Here’s a few snippets with my comments (in brackets) afterwards – these are from just one page of special offers….
Sidebar: I don’t want to be seen as singling out any particular product here… as the products may well TEACH what is required to do, and the authors may well have DONE what they CLAIM…. but, check these out –
* $700/day for 20 minutes of work. (Does that mean $1400 if I do 40 mins a day?)
* Get 85,394 Visitors Every Single Month (what… exactly??)
* Turn $125 into $13,000 per month. (Really, cool… sign me up 1000000 times!)
* $500+/DAY IN LESS THAN 4 HOURS- 30 MINUTES SETUP (huh, which is it, 4 hrs of 30 mins?)
* $1,400 in 4 hours – Guaranteed! (You betta!)
* $5 for $15000? BELIEVE IT! (I don’t).
* $4500/mo with free Blogs. (Sweet, this one won’t cost me a cent!)
* 4,361,520 Article Views – WARNING: You’re wasting time with article marketing… (So you mean I don’t even have to write articles??)
That’s way too much money for me! I know that most of us still haven’t made our first million yet, but I’m just a simple guy:)
Want to know what the best bit is? I did some maths and figured out that according to the above headlines if I were to spend less than $200 to buy all those offers I should be able to earn $97,200 in a month and only work 8.3 hrs a day to do it. We should ALL be millionaires!
Sheesh.
Maybe if you really want to earn a good living online you should make your offers a little more believable, build trust, and then… success will find you.
