Soap Opera’s In Prime Time Sports

Well folks, soap opera’s have hit the prime time slots, but it’s the sports world, (not in “Day of Our Lives”..:). I do think they are a bunch of spoiled over paid players. I don’t believe this in all cases of course, but in many more than there should be. Now just to name a few.
How about the obvious one first. The B.Favre saga that has been going on for over two years now heads the list. He was pampered and thrown millions to keep coming back and he not only ate it up, he came back. There’s an old saying, better be careful what you wish for. The Viking’s and all involved got a taste of those words of wisdom first hand. (a bad taste) The old gunslinger pushed the envelope just one year to many and it’s shows in the Viking’s 3-7 record. It shows in the lead leading 17 interception and five fumbles to date. There’s also a fired coach at the hands of the whole mess. If I wanted to go on, there’s that sex thing with that young lady with the Jets, but I’ve said enough on B.Favre.
Well the next soap opera is…you guessed it, the Big “3” of the Miami Heat. L.James,C.Bosh,and D.Wade. They turned the NBA into the biggest off season soap opera there ever was. The whole story has gone on strong, right into the regular season. With their actions and arrogance they had put a target on their backs that all the teams are shooting at. The fans are also doing their share rooting against the so call Big “3” and I’m one of those fans. I think their ego’s took over their actions and had them believing they were above the game, (as well as everyone else). They are 8-7 to date and their saying, their not having any fun. Well no kidding. I wonder why?….DUH!
The T.O and Cinco show (T.Owens and C.Johnson) hit Cincinnati with a bang with all kinds of Super Bowl predictions. They talked trash on every interview and talk show they could. The season started and both of them continue their trash talking barely catching a breathe in between. It didn’t last more than a month though, and to date those Super Bowl predicted Bengals are 2-8. Those two were tooting their horns about so much was finally silenced with defeat. (which also pleased me so…:)
The biggest individual soap opera and most surprising is yep, Tiger Woods. He went from being the most respected top athlete into the least respected, average Sunday afternoon golfer. His cheating by some say with (15) different woman was something at first wasn’t even believable. If you were to say that would happen two years ago, you’d be locked up in a State Hospital. He hit skid row in every area of his life, losing his wife and kids as well as millions of dollars. His image may recover in time, but will never be what it once was. They say winning would change that, but I don’t think so. I think winning will help him mentally, but Tiger will never be the all-around person he once was.
Well that was (4) of my biggest soap opera’s to date. It seems there is no end to these kind of soap opera’s though. I think they players are paid to much and spoiled and pampered to much starting at a very young age…but that’s just my 2 cents…but 2 cents I’ll stick with…:)…cooljim a fan/and devil’s advocate
