Copywriting Secrets – How To Write Effective Copy That Will Blow Your Buyers Away

Copywriting is something that takes lots of study and practice. It’s a hard craft to master, but once you’ve got it down, it can make you piles of money as a ghostwriter. It’s also a useful skill for marketers who can do it themselves even if they don’t consider themselves “writers.” Here are the rules for writing copy that converts.
First of all, there are no rules. Didn’t mean to be deceptive there, but the truth is that good copywriters don’t follow rules, use templates or have tried-and-true formulas for writing copy. You have to be creative and always thinking outside the box. Keep in mind the goal of your copy and focus on THAT, then let the creative juices flow. You never know when going against common knowledge and trying something crazy might work. That’s how all the copywriters in the past did it!
Write Like You’re Talking To A Friend. Imagine that your reader is one of your friends, and you’re telling them about the coolest thing you’ve discovered all your life. Selling vitamin supplements? Make it sound like you’ve unlocked the secret to human happiness and tell them all about it. Imagine their enthusiasm at hearing it. Most importantly, empathize with them. You’re trying to help them.
Take All Risk Away From The Buyer. People read sales pages looking for a reason to click away. They’re reading until they find something that sounds risky or difficult, and then they’re moving on. You’ve got to take all the risk away from the buyer and take it on yourself. You should be the one taking wild chances by offering the product.
Write Lots And Write Often. Learning to copyright takes lots and lots of writing. There’s no way to perfect your craft without slaving over it. For this reason, write daily and sharpen your skills. Test your writing to see if it’s effective. Remember that just because YOU think it’s good doesn’t mean anything; put it online and see if THEY (the hungry crowd) like it. You should also seek feedback from friends and fellow copywriters. You don’t need to get expert advice; just show it to a friend or coworker and see if it stirs their emotions.
Quit Being Such A Writer. Writing sales copy isn’t about crafting amazing prose; it’s about selling a product to casual internet surfers. Rather than a writer, think of yourself as a psychologist. Use the words to sell. Don’t get overly flowery or artistic with your content.
Check Out The Competition. Check out your competition and see what they’re doing. Look at successful online products and see why their sales pages hook so many people. Then, see where your copy is lacking. You can learn a lot about improving your writing by doing this.
Always Strive For Perfection. There is no copywriter on earth who feels like they’ve got it in the bag. Like I said, there is no formula. Good copywriters are constantly looking for ways to improve their writing. There is always further you can go.
Finally, give your prospects exactly what they’re looking for. Get inside the mind of your buyer (your targeted market) and speak to their wants and needs directly. If you can successfully do this with your copywriting, you’re guaranteed sales.
