Unlock Your Inner Carrie – Inspiration From Sex And The City

There is no doubt anyone can become an effective writer when he (or she) learns to see things exactly as Carrie Bradshaw does in the world-famous series Sex & The City. In that series she has her own column in a local NY newspaper. But the inspiration you can get for your own writing is indeed to learn to turn everyday current events into your own special events. Whatever small thing you might have noticed while walking the streets or talking to an old friend can be related on your blog or when you do your own articles.
Writer’s block only happen to those who can’t find inspiration, but once you are ready to see things that happen around you from a third party perspective then even little lessons can help others once you turn your spotlight on these events.
Normally our problems with writing is that we imagine we must do Pulitzer prize winning articles to inspire others, whereas it is very often the story itself that will ultimately attract the Pulitzer prize. Journalists, writers and photographers all have one special talent: they can see news when it happens. Such a talent is rare because a poor journalist is one that constantly needs encouragement about what to write. The active journalist finds news everywhere, and can see interesting perspectives in any event they encounter.
That is the key ingredient that separates the really good from the average. Once you can begin to see news around you, it is far more likely that you can inspire your audience at all times. What was perhaps just a small disagreement with a janitor could be an interesting article about finding a new job if you aren’t fulfilled in your current job, or inspiration to talk positively with one another at all levels in the company.
Do you see where we are going?
That is the type of writing that inspires people because you take a personal event and make it relevant for your audience. Once they can see inspiration flowing from your pen (or keyboard) they are far more likely to keep reading what you have to say because it makes a difference in their lives just as it did in yours.
People that can move others have a rare quality of writing, and it should be kept alive by being nurtured at all times. That is the perspective you should notice next time you watch Sex & The City on television.
