Six Tips For Writing Great Articles For Your Website

Getting people to visit your website is one thing, but getting them to keep coming back for more is an entirely different ballgame. Whether your site has the intentions of selling a product(s) or providing useful information, writing great articles is certainly key. Here are some useful tips to keep in mind when creating articles for your website!
Establish a Clear Target Audience – It is important not to try and appeal to too many audiences at once, otherwise your intended message may become blurred and unappealing. Instead, focus on one target audience per article(s) and work on clearly conveying your message to them.
Originality – Your readers are coming to you for helpful advice, how-to’s, and information that they haven’t already seen on a thousand other sites. It is important to be compelling and original so that you stand out to your readers. Copyrighting is also a huge problem in this area. Writer’s work hard on their articles. So if you plan to use another writer’s article as a reference, do just that – USE IT AS A REFERENCE. And remember to give credit where credit is due by listing a reference where it is appropriate within the article or listing your references all at once at the end of the article.
Take the Time To Spell Check and Check For Grammatical Errors – You might be the world’s foremost expert in your field or have the best product available, but you are guaranteed to lose credibility with your readers if your article is wrought with spelling errors and improper grammar. Taking the time to run your article through spell check and proof read it (or have someone else proof read it) will prove to be well worth the effort. Be sure to also keep the “LOL”‘s, “LMAO”‘s, and “BTW”‘s to a bare minimum or completely eliminate the usage of such acronyms altogether.
The Perfect Headline – Your article’s headline is what initially grabs your audience’s attention. Concocting the perfect headline is just as important as writing an article with substance. Your headline needs to be creative and relative to the topic your article is about. If you don’t have the right headline, your article could easily be skipped over.
Pictures – The placement of the perfect picture within your article can paint a thousand words. It helps give your reader a better feel for the message your are trying to convey and adds a little color to all the black and white.
Don’t Be Too Wordy – Your audience is seeking an informational source that offers brief, well organized and insightful content. It can be easy to go into too much detail or jump back and forth between topics. If you want your readers to be drawn into your article and come back for more be informative while being concise!
Use these tips to your advantage, and you can be on your way to writing great articles for your website!
