Are you Working at your Peak or Is Your Performance Suffering?

Work can wear us down and we all need a rest at some point, but sometimes it is difficult to pump the breaks find time to lay low

If you spend hours upon hours trying to get some work done but don’t get much accomplished during an 8-hour work shift, something might be wrong. You are probably not working at the optimal level or you just can’t manage your time well. To be more productive at work, here are a few tips to see you through:

1. Plan

Planning your week and planning your day will help you focus on the things you have to do. A few minutes spent on planning will save you a lot of time on wondering what to do next or losing track of what needs to be done.

2. Focus and Discipline

When you’re at work, you’re supposed to be working not chatting with your friends at the office. Distractions take you away from your primary purpose and waste valuable time in the workplace. There is a need for you to be disciplined when it comes to work.

3. Practice the 80-20 Rule

The 80-20 rule works like this – you spend most of your energy on the most difficult and most important tasks and then concentrate on the other 20% of the work once you’ve done all the necessary workload.

4. Get Some Sleep

Being drowsy whilst at work can severely impact on your productivity . If you keep regular hours of sleep, your mind and body will function better.

If you work in an office, chances are, you are required to use a lot of brain power to get tasks done. If your brain is not working properly, this will affect your performance and your work will be less than satisfactory .

5. Use Your Breaks Wisely

Treat your breaks as a breather not time to chitchat about what you are doing. If you’re sleepy and not hungry at lunchtime, for instance, you can take a 20-minute nap. Sometimes it pays just to take a moment out of the office to step outside and breathe the fresh air.
